Holiday Show

The holiday dance sharing is held the first Saturday of December at SB Dance Arts before our studios close for the break. It is an informal dance performance held at held at the studio, to give the students an opportunity to show their families and friends what they are working on.

There is no costume purchase required for this show. Instead, we use color palettes and stylistic ideas to co-ordinate the class dances. Dances run in convenient 15 minute intervals. There will be food available for sale and a Holiday Boutique so you can get your shopping done early. All proceeds benefit the Arts Mentorship Program Scholarship Fund.

The holiday show for 2009-2010 will be held Saturday December 5th from noon to 4:00 PM at the studio. Holiday break will be December 5th - January 2nd. Please see the November and December newsletter for the performance schedule. See the General Info tab to click to the newsletters.

The following classes will NOT participate in the Holiday Show so they can spend the fall session focusing on technique.  The classes listed WILL perform in the End of Year show in May. Note: Our Ballet and Breakdancing classes are not performance based classes and do not perform in ANY shows.

Santa Barbara: All classes geared towards dancers 3-5 years olds, Jazz 4A, 4B, Teen Jazz 3, Teen Jazz 4, Advanced Jazz, and Advanced Plus Jazz.

Carpinteria: All classes geared towards dancers 3-5 years olds, tumbling, Jazz 3, Jazz 4

Dance Teachers Gone Wild

Friday and Saturday, February 4th and 5th at Center Stage Theatre  

See your favorite Central Coast dance teachers in action in this show that is NOT TO BE MISSED! All proceeds will go towards Arts Mentorship Program Scholarship Fund. Tickets are available through the center stage box office at: 963-0408 or online at centerstagetheater.org

Friday & Saturday, March 4th - 6th

“Configuration”, featuring the Arts Mentorship Program's Dance Companies in concert at Center Stage Theatre.

Friday & Saturday 7pm, Saturday 2pm - General Admission $15 - (a $10 student price is offered at the Saturday Matinee!!)

Annual Student Choreography Showcase

Sunday May 1st at the SB Dance Arts Performance Space.

Come enjoy an afternoon of student choreography that is completely directed, choreographed, and produced BY THE STUDENTS! All proceeds benefit the Scholarship and Company programs of the Arts Mentorship Program. In 2010 our students raised over $6000 all by themselves! Proceeds benefit the Student Companies and Scholarship funds.

End Of Year Recital

May 20 - 22 - End of Year Recital at Marjorie Luke Theatre

SENIOR SHOW – Friday May 20th – 3pm Dress Rehearsal & 7pm Show

PETITE SHOW – Saturday May 21st – 9am Dress Rehearsal & NOON Show

JUNIOR SHOW – Sunday May 22nd – 2pm Dress Rehearsal & 5pm Show

TECH WEEK – Saturday May 14 (Company & Advanced Classes) and May 16-19.
The following classes do not participate in the show and WILL have class during Tech Week: Ballet, Breakdancing, Pilates

PLEASE REALIZE HOW MUCH TIME & ENERGY IT TAKES TO PUT THIS INCREDIBLE SHOW TOGETHER. SB DANCE ARTS staff, your dancer and you will have an inspirational experience if we all work together to keep track of important date and deadlines.

•  January Tuition will include a $50 per student/per class non-refundable* costume fee. (* Refunds will be available for those who RSVP before the 1/28 deadline mentioned below.)

•  Costume fittings will be throughout January. All dancers must be fitted and RSVP for the show by January 18th so we can adequately plan spacing and order costumes.

•  Costume fittings will be the first weeks of January. If your dancer is absent during that time you will need to provide fitting measurements for your child (bust, inseam, waist, hip) to office (hard copy or email) by 1/28.

•  DANCE ARTS will not be held responsible for costumes that do not fit or that are ordered after RSVP date.

•  Please note dates and times above. Additionally we will have a photo and technical rehearsal before the show. For specific details be sure to click on the MAY NEWSLETTER. This also kicks off our priority pre-registration for classes for the following fall. This will be the only pre-reg exclusively for students who are currently dancing with DANCE ARTS - be sure to sign up and secure your spot - classes will close once full!
