"I'm at Stanford majoring in Public Policy with a secondary major in Economics. Freshman year in college, I made it into Stanford's top hip hop dance group, "Dv8," which I was Artistic Director for last quarter, and top jazz dance group, "Urban Styles." I'm now more involved in the Dance Department, taking Advanced Modern Class and dancing in a faculty piece with Robert Moses. My sophomore year in high school I founded an organization called Everybody Dance Now! which has since brought free after-school hip-hop dance classes to over 750 underprivileged kids. The program is still going strong, and several other Dance Arts girls are involved as leaders in training. I've also started a branch with friends at Stanford. I am passionate about public service and plan to pursue a career in international development. I spent last summer working with a nonprofit in a village in India, and will spend 10 weeks this summer researching an innovative social entrepreneurship and leadership educational program in Uganda.
My 11 year-old sister is now in Dance Arts's company - Impact - and absolutely loves it! Seeing her involved in the program and getting to take part in all the rewarding activities that I got to participate in at her age makes me really happy and reminds me of all that I gained from the remarkable faculty, performance/convention opportunities, and "family" that SB Dance Arts provided me at her age. I am so excited about my sister participating that this year, when Configuration was the same weekend as my hip hop dance group's annual performance this year, I decided to go to SB to watch Configuration instead."

“For seven years, Santa Barbara Dance Arts has been the creative, dynamic, nuturing environment that my daughter Sarah calls home. The teachers have provided her with exceptional dance training while the other students have provided her with a supportive dance family. We are indebited to this studio for their presence in Santa Barbara and our life!”

“Dance Arts rocks! The faculty is not only talented, but friendly, respectful, and caring. They truly care about our children and their whole well-being, not just how they are as dancers. We like that the atmosphere is relaxed yet expectations are high and clear. When you walk into SB Dance Arts you not only hear music, but laughter, constructive criticism, praise, and you can feel the love for the arts.”

"I have always been a mover, but through my training at Santa Barbara Dance Arts I became a dancer. I learned how to control and perfect the movement of my body through the many technique classes I took over the years. I was exposed to different forms of expression, which helped broaden my sense as a dancer and choreographer, but most important was the family I developed over the years at the studio. The community that surrounded me made me feel like I was always at home."
