• We order costumes from catalogue, in lieu of custom costumes in order to keep costs affordable.  Therefore, fit may not be ‘perfect’.

  • Fittings are March-April – Our teachers are verify costumes fit properly.

  • Dance Arts is happy to support alterations/re-orders when there is a major fit issue that makes it impossible for the child to dance.  We are aware that sometimes costumes are not the most comfortable (Sequins, sparkles, and tule), but they really light up the stage.    They are only wearing it for a short time!

  • Costumes will be distributed April 29- May 4 with a letter that details your dancer’s details for the show.

  • Your Spring tuition must be paid in full in order to receive costumes

  • Please do not launder costumes before the show

HAIR & make up:

  • We will send out a hair/makeup/costume guide in the MAY NEWSLETTER that will specify the hair and makeup needs for each class, plus any items you must provide (shoes, etc).

  • We suggest all dancers wear stage makeup because of the washed out effect that the powerful lights have on young faces. If you are concerned about your young dancer wearing makeup, please feel free to let us know. We always emphasize the difference between stage make up and street makeup.

  • We ask that all dancers wear basic stage makeup: Blush, lipstick, eye makeup, mascara (older dancers should wear eye liner & OPTIONAL: false lashes really open up the eyes)

  • We suggest dancers do not share makeup backstage.
