What’s Happening Now
Thank you, Miss Sunny!
To the wonderful dancers, families and staff at SBDA,
After a lot of hard conversations and back and forth, Chris (my husband) and I have decided that what is best for us is to leave CA, in the hopes of finding a place to live where we can get ourselves ahead, eventually buy a home and in general, have a much lower cost of living. We are also going to take this opportunity to get closer to our families who are both in the Midwest and East Coast. So, it is with tons of sadness I announce my decision to leave Dance Arts and our Santa Barbara home.
I would like to close out our chapter together with fun, laughter and dance. I know there may be some initial sadness and tears, but I am hoping we can all celebrate the amazing times we’ve had together and always remember them. I promise to be back when I can, and will always check in on you all.
I truly do love you all and I will miss you dearly… but we will not say official ‘goodbye’ just yet! Plus, Alana and I will work together for visits just like you get from Lauren, Chloe, Kyleigh, and Emily!

Sunny is one of the hardest workers I have ever met, and brings professionalism, creativity, and heart to our program. She is a talented choreographer, teacher, manager, mentor, and I love that I get to call her my friend. We will have more updates to follow and hope you can support us in what will be a monumental transition. Change is hard, and always leads to opportunity for growth we often didn’t even know we needed… even when it doesn’t feel like it.

Sunny is leaving very large space to fill in our little Dance Arts office. I am so proud to have had the opportunity to learn from such a generous, wise, kind, and talented woman. The office staff here is wishing for big and bright things in Sunny’s future!
